- Coffee : CoFFEE is an open source software for computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL) in a digital classroom. Unlike most CSCL envirmonments, CoFFEE is not designed for and indeed does not currently support distance learning, but is rather focused on facilitating group interaction within the classroom.CoFFEE offers customisable tools for group collaboration, knowledge sharing and representation, such as a threaded discussion forum, a graphical concept mapping tool, dynamic voting and others.CoFFEE is open source and free software released under the Eclipse Public License (EPL).
- Dokeos : Dokeos is one of the largest and most recognized companies dedicated to open source Learning Management Systems. Its main product is a SCORM compliant open source learning suite used by multinational companies, federal administrations and universities in some 60 countries for a total of 1,297,000 users
- eLML : The eLesson Markup Language (eLML) is an open source XML framework for creating eLessons using XML. It is a "spin-off" from the GITTA project, a Swiss GIS eLearning project, and was launched in spring 2004. The eLML project is hosted at Sourceforge and offers all the regular tools (CVS, bugtracker, forum etc.)
- Fle3 : Fle3 is a Web-based learning environment or virtual learning environment. More precisely Fle3 is server software for computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL).
Fle3 is designed to support learner and group centered work that concentrates on creating and developing expressions of knowledge (i.e. knowledge artefacts). Fle3 supports study groups to implement knowledge building, creative problem solving and scientific method in an inquiry learning process. - LAMS : LAMS, the Learning Activity Management System is an open source Learning Design system for designing, managing and delivering online collaborative learning activities. It provides teachers with an intuitive visual authoring environment for creating sequences of learning activities.
- LON-CAPA : LON-CAPA is an e-learning platform, also known as a Course Management System (CMS) or Learning Management System (LMS). It possesses the standard features of many learning platforms (user roles, calendar, e-mail, chat rooms, blogs, resource construction, test grading, etc.), but it differs from traditional e-learning platforms in that its many wed servers (in various parts of the world) can communicate with each other.
- SchoolForge : SchoolForge is a coalition of open source software development groups, school boards, curriculum advisory panels, and other organizations intent on advancing the use of Free Software, Open Source Software, and Open Content in Educational systems, world-wide. The name was inspired by the SourceForge way of doing things but with a focused slant toward "unleashing the power of Free Software" in school systems.
- WikSpeak : WikSpeak is a tool that allows non-native English speakers to analyze the correlation between the pronunciation and spelling of English words. This program is a simple and fast graphic interface which can retrieve either the phonetic transcription (IPA) or the pronunciation of any English word, while avoiding the annoying process of browsing dictionaries.
